If you had been cursing the guys at Apple for having an app killer, or the ‘remote kill switch’, in order to disable downloaded applications, you may have to start cursing the guys at Google as well. Apparently, even they have a remote kill switch and they have mentioned it too, explicitly in the TOS. However, it may make more sense to Google to have the remote killer switch, as many apps are not checked like they are before entering the Apple Store.
Android’s App Market may seem like Apple Store, but then they have the remote killer switch too. Sometimes I wonder if only the consumers are not squashed under the boots by malicious apps and gargantuan companies, life would be easier and more satisfying.

If you had been wondering how you could make sense of the ocean that makes up the blogosphere, help is near. Google has unveiled the Google Blog Search tool, which competes with Techmeme, Polymeme, Wikio and other “memetrackers” that sort and organize blog posts into categories.
There is going to be a new homepage for the Google Blog search and they have used their Google News website to separate blog postings into clusters based on topics, stories or events. In a cluster one would find the most interesting and recent posts and also a timeline graph, which shows how the story is gaining momentum in the blogosphere. Looks like us bloggers will have an easier time ahead.

When the engineering diagrams for the T-Mobile branded HTC Dream handset came out, it excited every one beyond words. Now that photos of a phone that falls along the lines of the leaked diagrams have come up online, we may conclude that it is the real thing. The white handset, rumoured to be called the G1, has a five-row QWERTY keyboard hidden beneath a side-sliding keyboard.
Rumour mongers insist the G1 runs a 528Mhz Qualcomm 7201 processor with a 64RAM and 128MB ROM. Other features of the phone may include a 1GB MicroSD card, a 3.1 megapixel camera sans flash, and payback of h.264, streaming, 3GPP, MPEG4 and 3GP video. HTC, T-Mobile and Google have not yet announced a released date but if other sources are to be believed, the G1 will be available from October 13th of this year at the price of $199. Apparently, existing subscribers to the carrier can preorder the phone nearly a month in advance.

Now, we are all Mozilla fans, but when Google does something, it always excels, mainly because of their awesome interface and the number of pages they are connected to, which is almost infinite. The Google Chrome is being introduced with the help of a comic book. The beta version of the new open source browser has already been launched 100 countries and is designed with today’s web applications and today’s users in mind. The browser is not only more stable and faster but is also secure and allows JavaScript to be unimaginably fast.
