The increasing anxiety about the deteriorating condition of the environment has turned almost every person uber eco-conscious. This has lead to not just better caring of the Earth, but also to a host of new products and concepts along the line of eco-friendliness.
Frattini brings us the Elettronico Electronic Faucet intended to bring the rising problem of water shortage, and wastage, into check. The faucet comes with a touch-operated control panel that would control the amount of water used. It works like a master control panel by controlling all the faucets in the house, thus giving us the opportunity to switch off all water taps by the touch of a single button. Temperature of the water can also be preset via the control panel, for all faucets simultaneously, so that water is not wasted as you fumble with old-fashioned hot-and-cold taps.

I have a job that demands me to sit in front of the computer screen for many long hours, which not only strain my eyes, but also increase my electricity usage. In fact I must be one of the most uncool out there, to be using so much of energy without any qualms. However, here is a green PC that may not only save electricity bills but also help reduce energy usage and contribute to the greater well being of the society.
The Advent Eco is an awesome computer that runs on just 25 watts and has a fan-less cooling system, which according to me is uber-cool. The computer is mostly made of recycled materials, which makes it pretty green and environmentally friendly. However, this computer will run only basic programs such as email, surfing and word processing.

This could come as a surprise to you but plugging in a device to the wall socket and leaving it there may still consume power, even if you have switched the device off. This means at the end of the month you are going to pay a heavy electricity bill and also waste precious energy. Hence, in order to let the lazy folks not unplug every time they are not using a device; Belkin has launched the Conserve Surge Protector. The device looks quite like an ordinary wall socket, but the difference is the wall-mountable wireless switch because it can cut the power when you are not using your device.
There also are two outlets that let your devices stay switched on, always. When you use the Conserve Surge Protector, you are saving a lot of electricity and are also doing your part in order to conserve electricity, which is quite scarce too, these days. This handy surge protector costs $49.99 and is well worth the price.

The many uses of magnets have been discussed ad nauseum! And yet, not and then, we find some cool uses for huge blocks of magnets that practically make us jump up and kiss them- if we had one at close distance. Magnetic induction is a new technology in which the magnetic energy or magnetic field is used to generate other types of energy. Still with me? This means that with magnetic induction, cars can run sans fuel, beds may hand in midair and you may even be able to charge your laptops. Now use the Cook Top and cook food with the help of magnetic induction.
The Magnetic Induction Cook Top makes use of this technology. Here, the cook top transfers heat to the pan via magnetic induction. Pleasantly, the cook top will remain cool to touch since the heat created will only be transferred to magnetic objects (like iron). The cooling top also believes in saving power because the removal of the pot/pan is enough for the cook top to sense its absence and switch off without being told. The placing of small items, such as a spoon, will not generate heat because the cook top senses the mass and remains off. Boiling water on the cook top takes just 15 seconds! Is it worth the GE price of $2549?

The Harry Potter movies that audaciously show-off posters and newspapers with moving pictures have increased the desire in the tech world to create thinner and even thinner displays. This desire, coupled with the need to appear fashionable, may have lent to the creation of this next gadget-cum-jewelry piece. The Bracelet media player by Chocolate Agency will make your eyes pop out. This bracelet is completely made of e-paper which can displays media clips.
The e-paper which is thin and flexible enough to roll into the shape of a bracelet, can be worn around the wrist and need only be unrolled to view movies et al. The concept of a bracelet means you have a cool looking jewelry piece that allows you to carry, on your wrist, a whole movie theatre. The Bracelet media player is also quite eco-friendly since it is powered from the kinetic energy created by the person wearing it. No clues on the price yet, but I am not sure men would racing to get this gadget.

It includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, SMS and video messaging and an MP3 player so you can listen to songs like ‘Heal the World’ when people start to frustrate you. One special feature is that the phone beeps as a reminder to unplug the battery when the phone is fully charged, helping you save even more power. A word of advice, don’t try to eat the casing when you’re hungry.
