Have you ever wanted a charger that was fuel-efficient, was portable and was also small in size? Well, you are definitely not the first one and even asking a question like that is dumb enough. Err. Panasonic announced yesterday that it has developed a fuel cell, which can be utilized to charge mobile gadgets.
The company has unveiled two models of which one can be loaded inside a notebook and the other model can be used to charge mobile devices externally. The models run on Li-ion secondary battery and run on 200ml of methanol. The device reduces volume, as the joints of the cell stacks are not required to generate power and the uses a fuel cell.

The last time you wanted to charge your mobile phone and realized that you didn’t have a charger or a source of electricity, you must have cursed yourself. We have all been cursing the number of gadgets that have entered the market and using up all the power. Power being so precious, the only alternative is a renewable source of energy. The device converts kinetic energy into electricity and you can go ahead and walk and charge your gadget, be it an mp3 player or your cellphone. Tucked under your belt, the device uses your movements to charge your gadgets. The great thing is, while you can stay proud of having not wasted precious power, you can also lose weight since you have been walking so much. However, this product is still is concept and we wonder, when it might be manufactured. And when it really enters the market, we would be the first ones to buy it.

The buzzword these days has been sustainable energy and with that comes the solar part of the scheme. Solar energy is being used almost in every gadget and we have seen solar powered cars even! Now to make matter a little more complicated, we bring to you the solar powered tie! The solar powered tie comes with solar panels arranged in a grid, which makes the tie look a little better than a few strangely designed ties.
With this tie, you can go ahead and charge many of your electronic products. However, the problem with this solar powered tie is that if you stay in an office then you wouldn’t be getting all the solar energy you may need to charge the attached electronic gadgets. It is still in the concept stage, so we need not worry about the cost and release dates. However, even when the tie gets manufactured, don’t expect it to look like an Armani design or a tie that you liked at the Harrods’.
