webcam TIE Fighter Webcam Looks Like Star Wars Spaceship
Internet experiences are not complete today unless you switch on your webcam and make a disgusting face or blow a kiss at someone. Such an important accessory to your computer has to look cool and keep changing faces. The TIE Fighter webcam is modeled after the aircraft used to hunt down Darth Vader in (do I really have to say it?) the Star Wars movies. This miniature version of the space-fighter can be fitted to the screen of your system and would look pretty futuristic sitting atop it.

As a replica of the Star Wars space-craft, the TIE Fighter webcam appears as a white ‘aircraft’ with folded wings on both sides. The nose of the aircraft cleverly conceals the actual camera, thus not taking away the look of the ship. The webcam is fitted with two LEDs sitting right below the nose to shine light on your face. The TIE Fighter webcam is priced at an extremely affordable almost throwaway price of $40. This would surely have the Star Wars freaks rushing to every shop selling the webcam.

spy-kite Spy Kite: Flies High and Takes Pictures
Every kid these days attempts to take the fast lane to adulthood doing everything their older brothers or dads do. This is apparent in the popularity of war games when boys shoot and blow each other up constantly. Spying on the opposition team and finding out their secrets make a big part of these games. Climbing walls and peeping into the opposition team’s headquarters may be a bit risky, so what can they do? Fly kites? The Spy Kite allows you to take pictures from a height of 80 feet in the air.

If you have seen most of the triangualer shaped UFO’s in X-Files, then you would know from what the Spy Kit was modelled. The triangular shaped kite in futuristic patterned green is made from ‘high performance’ fibreglass frame. The digital camera is attached to the base of the kite. Just fly your Spy Kite and then donload them to your computer to view them. The quality of the pictures taken from that height remains sceptical. At 30 pounds, the Spy Kite is unfortunately out of stock.

Bionic Camera With Hemispherical Arrays

article-1042256-022fe0df00000578-861_468x286 Bionic Camera With Hemispherical Arrays

Arrays of digital cameras that decide the final picture displayed, are flat instead of hemispherical, which result in a lower quality of the displayed picture. This obstacle has been rectified by the invention of the bionic camera, which has a hemispheric array, by Prof. John Rogers from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. The human eye receives light, which casts a picture on the retina, the hemispherical shape of which allows light to be received bypassing all losses, and sends a final picture to the brain. Digital cameras can be fitted with additional lenses to increase the picture quality but these are heavy, large and expensive.

On the other hand, the hemispheric array of the bionic camera is just one lens with a special silicone pixel plate, which has a wireframe carrying 256 pixels. Prof. Rogers insists that the number of pixels is low because the prototype is still in the research state and can later be increased. They can only hope the prototype is mass-produced soon so that they get better quality pictures at an affordable price. The funny thing about technology is that it changes too soon, leaving earlier ones obsolete. However, the Bionic-camera looks like a promising product.

Canon EOS 1D Mark III and problems of autofocus

Canon EOS 1D Mark III and problems of autofocus., Cameras, Firmware, Marche, Canon, 1dmkiiii, canon 1dmkiii, eos

Rob Galbraith has conducted an analysis on the ground with the new firmware to see if the known problems autofocus were resolved after 3 firmware updates and a correction hardware. The problems are probably due to the new sensor for the autofocus mounted on these reflex and problems with a mirror mounted on some copies. During the start of 2008 in Canon has worked hard to correct the problem, probably with a view to the Olympics, since the problem manifested more in shooting sports performance.

With the new firmware the ability to maintain a subject static or moving to fire becomes very very high, but in some cases the camera still overestimates the speed of movement of the person. The situations in which the quarry better if people are moving slowly or moving gradually, like a runner crossing the frame.
