I have a job that demands me to sit in front of the computer screen for many long hours, which not only strain my eyes, but also increase my electricity usage. In fact I must be one of the most uncool out there, to be using so much of energy without any qualms. However, here is a green PC that may not only save electricity bills but also help reduce energy usage and contribute to the greater well being of the society.
The Advent Eco is an awesome computer that runs on just 25 watts and has a fan-less cooling system, which according to me is uber-cool. The computer is mostly made of recycled materials, which makes it pretty green and environmentally friendly. However, this computer will run only basic programs such as email, surfing and word processing.

There something always has been alluring about the lasers, perhaps it’s the idea of a futuristic society and a futuristic way of perpetuating violence, that makes us fall in love with lasers. However, this time it is a laser flashlight brought to you by Wicked Lasers, which can even burn paper easily.
It has about 4100 lumens and can start fires and burn your skin to ashes. It is as good as carrying your own floodlight and is touted to be the most powerful torchlight in the whole wide world. These kinds of gadgets remind me of Star wars and the laser sword, which could kill any of your enemies within an instant. However, what baffles me is the idea that torchlight could be used to start fires and could potentially be a great danger if the gadget gets into wrong hands.

Ok here we go. I am fascinated by death and the decay it brings upon us. When the flesh disintegrates and all that is left is a pile of bones, the skull is the real striking image that leaves us with a queasy horror. However, as I said earlier, I’m fascinated by death and if any product has got something to do with death, I would definitely find it uber-cool.
Wayne Martin Bleger has created a pinhole camera called the Third Eye eerily, for it uses a skull as the body of the pinhole camera. The film can be exposed to light through the titular ocular cavity and the resulting picture is a blurred and creepy image just as a dead person or a dying person would see.

The last time I went to friend’s place to transfer a few files on his desktop, I used my chic USB flash drive to carry the files with me. I also have the habit of smoking when i get really bored and when things were not too interesting there; I decided to have my smoke. However, the friend does not smoke and had run out of matches and as luck would have it, it was too late to buy light.
If you have encountered such a weird situation, you would know how easy it is to carry a USB flash drive, which also functions as a lighter. This could help you light not only your cigarette but can also help you many weirder situations where you need both a USB flash drive and a lighter. This great source of fire can store up to 8GB and also has a retractable USB connection, which slides out of the bottom.

Hard drives are becoming smaller and getting slimmer by the day. Toshiba appears to be displeased with their own performance because they have gone ahead and broken their own record for the world’s smallest hard drive. The 250GB MKxx29GSG series disk stands at just 8.0mm thickness and would give tough competition to their recently announced 240GB 1.8 hard drive.
The 240GB drive supposedly also has a much slower PATA interface and has been considered much more suitable to audio players than fully functioning laptops. The 3Gbps SATA new hard drive spinning at 5400rpm is already being considered to be an ideal match for super slim laptops that require smaller hard ware to make it smaller, lighter and more portable.

The Department of Homeland Security have developed a new anxiety-detection technology designed to detect unusually high biological fluctuations in humans at airport checkpoints like changes in breathing patterns, increased heart rate, etc. Our inability to know when someone is deceiving us has enormous consequences in the fight against terrorism. These bio scans may help authorities to spot dangerous people.
This may remind one of the redundant and annoying saying “prevention is better than cure”. You might have a doubt nagging at the back of your mind that a person might shows signs of anxiety the moment he walks through a checkpoint like quickened heart rate and heavier breathing, and fluctuations in body temperature.

The scientists at Tel Aviv University and MIT have joined hands to build homes using trees. Unlike the traditional topiary airophonics, the idea is to the use a technique where in plants are grown without soil and then use these live plants to build homes and structures. This would allow architects and scientists to create basic structures such as park benches and bus shelters from plants.
These ecological homes come along with more of greenery to control pollution and save trees. Designed by a group called PlantWare these homes are made in an eco friendly way, and are equipped to convert massive quantities of carbon dioxide to oxygen, use solar panels and wind turbines for generating power and special composting septic tanks that convert human waste into nutrients for the tree.

WiMAX seems to be the next biggest thing in the realm of technology and we have seen many gadgets cropping up in this realm. The latest to enter the market is Motorola’s USBw 100 WiMAX adapter. This may look small but comes packed with enough technology to put any larger sized gadget to shame.
It is available in three types, 2.3GHz, 2.5GHz or 3.5 GHz network. Though it is still too early to reveal more, we may safely say that this gadget will solve many problems now that WiMAX is slowly but surely entering the mobile market as well. We do not have any information about the release dates, pricing, pictures or anything like that. The safest thing to do is to wait and watch, and get an idea as to what might be coming.
